The main ingredients in my Keeps are clay, wood, and metal. The vessel is made of clay. The clay comes in a variety of colors, textures and finishes. I relish in the rich tapestry of the pottery making process and unify my work with the box/jar form. The lid is made of wood. The wood has an equally diverse palette. I find much joy in combining woods that converse with the clay vessel. The handle is occasionally made of metal. It offers an added elemental functionality to the Keep and is carefully considered to complement the finished piece. In any case, the sum has exceeded the parts to form an object that is crafted to keep in every sense.
